April 16 - 26	Spanish Meet. Villa + Camping at Alora in Andalucia, about 25 miles north of Malaga and about 60 miles west of Granada. Activities will include Climbing at El Chorro: Walking in the Parque Natural de Torcal: Birding at Laguna de Fuente de Piedra: Culture in the amazing Alhambra in Granada: plus chilling out in the sun! Aug 7 - Sat	Borrowdale Fell Race. The Club provides all the Check Point Marshalls for this event, so contact Peter Goff if you would like to volunteer, or just come along and support Fellfarer Colin Jennings who is running the race. Because of the popularity of this event last year, 16 bed spaces will be reserved for Marshalls, and anyone else wishing to stay must book a space with Peter Goff.	Peter Goff 01524 736990
Aug 11 - Wed	Family Orienteering Event on Scout Scar. Starts at the old race course on Brigsteer Road. Park on the Brigsteer Rd at GR 502917 and walk across the old race course to the next stile, where we will be waiting. You can start any time between 6 and 7 pm. Do it alone or with family/ friends. There will be a decent number of controls (ie checkpoints) which are designed to be achievable if you have young kids along, too The event will be run as a score event - ie you will have 60 mins in which to score as many points as possible (harder controls are worth more points). Your map with controls marked on it will be handed to you as you begin your 60 min time slot. A compass is recommended but GPS not allowed. Sept 23 - Thurs	We are sad to announce the death of Walter Dennison aged 95. He was the oldest living member and one of the original members who helped to convert High House from a ruin. His cremation was held on September 23, 2010, and the thoughts of many members will be with Dot his wife and Susan his daughter.
